1) World Refugee Day observed on June 20:
--> Every year June 20 is observed as World Refugee Day to raise awareness of the situation of refugees throughout the world.
--> The theme for year 2015 is "With courage let us all combine".
--> United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) had passed a resolution to observe 20 June as World Refugee Day on 4 December 2000.

2) Historian Ramachandra Guha Selected for Japan's Fukuoka Prize:
--> Historian-author Ramachandra Guha has been selected for Japan's prestigious Fukuoka Prize in the Academic category.
--> Dr Guha's fellow winners this year are Thant Myint-U (Grand Prize) and Minh Hanh (Arts and Culture).
--> Fukuoka Prize honours those who have made outstanding contributions to academia, arts and culture across Asia.
--> Previous winners of Fukuoka Awards include Mohammad Yunus, Romila Thapar, Ashis Nandy and Mo Yan.

3) Cristiano Ronaldo has a galaxy named after him:
--> Cristiano Ronaldo who is one of the great stars of football world has now a Galaxy named after him the Galaxy is  CR7.
--> Real Madrid star Ronaldo adopts the mantle CR7 because of his initials and shirt number.
--> The Portugal captain and the Real Madrid superstar was bestowed with the honour by the European Southern Observatory(ESO).

4) Jharkhand Government banned sale of thermocol plates:
--> Jharkhand Government has imposed a ban on the sale of thermocol plates in the state.
--> It was announced by Chief Minister Raghuvar Das. By banning thermocol plates, the state government aims at Promoting of leaf plates in the state.

5) Indian American scientist Jayant Baliga wins Russia's top technology award:
--> B Jayant Baliga, a US-based Indian-origin scientist, is being awarded Russia's top technology award in recognition of his work as a major development in energy management which brought about huge increase in efficiency and major savings.
--> The award will presented to Professor Baliga and Shuji Nakamura by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
