General Instruction to the Candidates Who applying Postman / MTS Examination

General Instructions to the candidates

1. The Online registration will remain active from 00:00 hours of 11/09/2015 to 23:59 hours of 04/10/2015 only. In order to avoid last minute rush, the candidates are advised to apply early enough. Tamilnadu Postal circle will not be responsible for network problems or any other problem of this nature in submission of online application during last days due to heavy rush etc.
2. Application form has to be filled in a single session in normal bandwidth speed of 256kbps and may require about 20 minutes. Please ensure that you have internet connection. Any Internet browser viz. IE 5 and above, FIREFOX, Chrome is strongly recommended.
3. An active e-mail id and Mobile Number is mandatory to apply online. The email id should be kept active till the declaration of results. Any updates on your application will be communicated through email & Website announcements only. If you do not have an active email id then please create one before you start filling the application.
4. Information sent through SMS will not reach candidates on DND (Do Not Disturb). Please keep visiting the website frequently for updates. For any problem with service provider, department shall not be responsible for non-receipt of SMS.
5. Candidates will be called for the examination based on their submissions of details in the application form online. It is primarily the responsibility of the candidate to verify whether he/she meets the eligibility criteria as specified in the advertisement.
6. In the event a candidate is found ineligible at any stage, the candidature will be summarily rejected without assigning any reason.
7. The candidate’s application will stand rejected for the technical reasons which include the following:
  a) Incomplete Fields.
b) Incorrect/Irrelevant entries.
c) Issues with Photos such as Scanned Photograph with seal affixed on it, Old faded or group photographs being uploaded, Photographs with very dark backgrounds, Photographs not in the specified size 3.5cmx4.5cm.
8. The candidature is purely provisional and subject to fulfilling of all eligibility conditions and other conditions specified in our notification, and subject to verification of certificates/marks card, caste certificate, antecedents by the competent authority.

How to Apply?

1. Eligible candidates would be required to apply only through Online by accessing the website: www.dopchennai.in Any other means/mode of application will be rejected.
2. The candidate has to go through the notification, instructions, vacancy position, FAQ carefully before filling the application form.
3. Please keep a scanned copy of your latest photograph (Passport Specifications) and your signature ready before you fill the form. Please refer to Guidelines for scanning the photograph and signature.
4. Please note that key information provided by the candidates, such as Name of the Candidate, Category, Date of birth, Qualification etc., will be considered as final and no modifications will be allowed after submission of the application. Candidates are requested to take utmost care while entering the input fields as required in the form.
5. The candidate must ensure that no column/field is left blank or wrongly filled as the information furnished therein would be taken for deciding the eligibility criteria for appearing in the exam. All the fields in the online application format should be filled up carefully. After submission of the application, no modification will be permitted.

 Payment of Fee:

1. After successful submission of online application form, the candidates should pay the required fee in CASH within 3 days from the closing date of online registration, at any post office listed under “E-Payment Offices” link in the website, through system generated challan only.
2. After payment of the required fee, the candidate has to update the payment detail by entering the information required in “Login” tab in the website for the completion of registration process.
3. For all eligible candidates who have paid the required fee, Admit Card will be generated for appearing the examination and sent to their registered email id and intimation through SMS.

Guidelines for scanning the photograph and signature

Before applying online, a candidate will be required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/ her photograph and signature as per the specifications given below.
Your online application will not be registered unless you upload your photograph and signature as specified.
 Photograph Imaging Tips
1. Photograph must be a recent passport size colour picture in the dimension of 3.5cmx4.5cm.
2. Make sure that the picture is in colour, taken against a light-coloured, preferably white, background.
3. Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face.
4. If the picture is taken on a sunny day, have the sun behind you, or place yourself in the shade, so that you are not squinting and there are no harsh shadows.
5. If the candidate has to use flash, ensure that there is no "red-eye."
6. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious headwear is allowed but it must not cover the candidate’s face.
7. Size of file should be between 10kb - 50kb.
8. Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50KB. If the size of the file is more than 50 KB, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as the DPI resolution, no. of colours etc., during the process of scanning.
Signature Imaging Tips:
1. The candidate has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen.
2. The signature must be signed only by the candidate and not by any other person.
3. The signature will be used to put on the Admit card.
4. If the candidate’s signature on the answer script at the time of the examination does not match with the signature on the Admit card., the candidate will be disqualified.
5. Size of file should be between 10kb - 40kb.

Scanning the photograph & signature

1. Set the scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch).
2. Set Colour to True Colour.
3. File Size as specified above.
4. Crop the image in the scanner to the edge of the photograph/signature, then use the upload editor to crop the image to the final size (as specified above).
5. The image file should be JPG or JPEG format. An example file name is : image01.jpg or image01.jpeg Image dimensions can be checked by listing the folder files or moving the mouse over the file image icon.
  Candidates using MSWindows/ MSOffice can easily obtain photo and signature in .jpeg format not exceeding 50kb by using MSPaint or MSOffice Picture Manager. Scanned photograph and signature in any format can be saved in .jpg format by using ‘Save As’ option in the File menu and size can be reduced below ( photograph 40 kb & signature 20kb) by using crop and then resize option
  If the file size and format are not as prescribed, an error message will be displayed.

 Admit card Generation and General instructions to candidate to appear for examination:

1. Candidates must check their Admit card thoroughly with regard to Name, Photograph etc. Any discrepancy should be brought to the notice of the authority within 48 hours of generation of Admit card.
2. Candidates should bring their Admit card to the exam without fail.
3. The candidates should carry photo identity proof in original viz. Passport, PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Driving License, Voter Id etc, as and when required by the invigilator/Hall Supervisor.
4. The candidates are advised to be present at the venue 1 hour before the commencement of the examination.
5. The Admit card should be shown to the invigilator while entering the examination hall and it should be handed over to them before leaving the hall.
6. The Candidates reporting after 15 Minutes of the start of examination will not be admitted at any cost.
7. The candidate will not be allowed to leave the examination hall till the examination is over and he/she should hand over the answer sheet to the invigilator before leaving the hall. Leaving the hall in the middle of the examination will result in forfeiture of your candidature.
8. No request for change in date of examination and centre will be entertained. The allotment of Examination Centre/City is the prerogative of the Department and any request received for change in examination centre/venue will not be permitted under any circumstances.
9. Candidates who have uploaded photographs that do not match the actual physical appearance of the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the exam. They will be deemed as rejected under Technical reasons.
10. The candidates are advised to put their signature in the Attendance sheet in the presence of Invigilators only. The signature should match with the signature in the Admit card as captured in the application. Any variation in signature at any stage of recruitment will render his/her candidature liable for cancellation.
11. Candidates are not permitted to bring or use Mobile Phone, Calculators or any other electronic / electrical device during examination.
12. The candidates shall read the instructions printed in the Question Booklet before answering.
13. Candidate should use Blue/Black Ball Point pen only to write and shade in the answer paper.
14. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
15. The candidates also fill all the columns in the OMR Sheets and shade the boxes/Circles clearly.
16. No alteration is permissible and candidates should make entries with due care.
17. No Travelling and Boarding expenses will be paid or arrangement made for attending the examination. Candidates have to bear all expenses and make their own arrangement.
18. Any form of canvassing will disqualify the candidate. The candidate found to be indulging in any malpractice or using any unfair means in the examination shall be disqualified.

Tamilnadu Circle is one among the 22 Postal Circles in the country. The Circle manages the day-to-day functioning of various Head Post Offices, Sub-Post Offices and Branch Post Offices through their Regional and Divisional level arrangements. Tamilnadu Circle is divided into 4 regions. Under each region there are Postal/RMS Divisions headed by divisional Superintendents. Each region is headed by a Postmaster General. Tamilnadu Circle is headed by the Chief Postmaster General who is the overall in-charge of the circle to ensure smooth operation and maintenance of postal services.

FAQ on TN Postal Recruitment 2015 : Postman / Mail Guard Examination

1. How to apply for the post?

2. Can a candidate who is awaiting final result apply for the post?
A candidate must have passed the qualifying 10th Class examination as on closing date of online Registration.

3. A candidate who passed out from distance education, can apply for this job?
A candidate must have passed the qualifying 10th Class examination from a Recognized Board / University.

4. What is the crucial date for determining age limit?
Closing date of online registration i.e. 04/10/2015.

5. For PH (physically handicapped) candidate what is the Age Relaxation?
For General candidate: 27 years + 10 years, for OBC candidate: 30 years +10 years, for SC/ST candidate: 32 years +10 years.

6. Whether NOC has to be produced by the candidates from PSUs/ Govt. Departments, at the time of registration?
NOC will be asked from the selected candidates at the time of joining the post.

7. Whether SC/ST/OBC certificate in the State Government Proforma allowed?
No, SC/ST/OBC certificate should be in the format prescribed for employment under the Government of India & issued by the competent authority. Please refer to notification.

8. Can an Ex-serviceman get any age relaxation?
Yes, as per rules of Government of India. For General Candidate, His/her Actual Age (minus) Number of Years served in armed forces ≤ 30 years. For OBC Candidate, His/her Actual Age (minus) Number of Years served in armed forces ≤ 33 years. For SC/ST Candidate, His/her Actual Age (minus) Number of Years served in armed forces ≤ 35 years.

9. I am not residing in Tamilnadu. Can I apply for the post in Tamilnadu Postal Circle?
Yes. The Aptitude Test for 100 marks will be conducted in centres identified by the department in Tamilnadu. Out of 100 marks, 25 marks will be set in Tamil. Kindly refer to Pattern and syllabus for the examination in Notification.

10. I am not residing in Tamilnadu. Can I pay the fees in any Post Office in India?
No. Payment should be made only in the identified Post Offices having e-Payment facility, in Tamilnadu Postal Circle. The list is provided in the website.

11. I am unable to complete the Application. It comes out and gives message.
You are either “Not Eligible to Apply according to criteria in notification” or “the inputs are not filled properly”. Please read the message carefully & Retry the Registration. For more help please click on the “Support” tab and fill the form for a resolution.

12. What to do if photograph and signature are not getting uploaded?
Please check the size of photograph (10 to 50 KB) and signature (10 to 40 KB) and format of files must be JPG or JPEG.

13. Can the photograph and signature be uploaded at the time of downloading admit card?
No, the photograph and signature are to be uploaded at the time of registration only.

14. I have printed the Challan. Where do I deposit the FEE and by when it can be deposited?
You can pay your FEE in CASH at the Post offices with E-Payment facility listed on the Home Page of www.dopchennai.in FEE can be paid within 3 days from the last date of Registration i.e. it should be paid on or before 07/10/2015.

15. After payment of Fee at Post Office, how do I update my payment information?
Click Login in the website and input the fields, as required. With reference to the Payment receipt issued by the Post Office, You are required to update the following:
1. PM Exam Receipt No 
2. Date of Payment
3. Name of Post Office, where payment made 
4. Amount paid

16. If the print out of the payment challan could not be taken after registration, can it be taken out at a later date?
Yes. The print out of the payment challan can be taken at a later date on “Login” and input the fields , as required. This option will be available only till the date mentioned in the notification.

17. Whether the registration number can be viewed again if the same has not been noted down at the time of submission of application.
Yes. The same can be retrieved from the email & SMS sent to you at the time of Registration.

18. Whether educational / community certificates are required to be attached along with registration?
No. Supported certificates are not required to be attached along with registration. These certificates will be verified for the selected candidates after the declaration of result.

19. Whether a candidate can register again if he has given any wrong information previously?
No. Once submitted, no changes can be made at any stage.

20. What is FEE to be paid?
Please refer to Notification. Payable Amount is either Rs. 100/- or Rs. 500/- and is printed on the FEE Challan.

21. Will Admit Card in hardcopy be sent to me by post?
No. Only softcopy of Admit Card should be downloaded from the website using Registration number and input the fields, as required. Please visit the website regularly for updates.

22. What is the model of written examination? Please give some selective book.?
Written paper will consist of multiple choice objective type questions and will be OMR based. No specific book is recommended. Kindly refer to Pattern and syllabus for the examination in Notification.

23. What is the syllabus?
Please refer to Notification.

24. What should I do if there is lot of delay in accessing the page?
Speed for Registration of On-Line Application on Internet, is based on various factors like Internet Speed, large number of candidates trying to register the application at the same time etc. Therefore if you are not able to get the pages for registration immediately, please retry after a gap of 15 minutes or during off-peak hours during the night.

25. How do I know that my application is registered?
Successful Registration is indicated by the Page displayed after clicking the Submit Button indicating the generated "REGISTRATION NO." The same will be sent through an email to email ID & SMS to mobile number of the candidate given in the application.

26. I did not receive the email intimation for registration of my application?
"REGISTRATION NO." is sent by auto-response confirmation emails. Delivery of these emails purely depends upon the correctness of E-Mail ID provided, Policy of your E-Mail Service Provider to accept and Divert such emails under Bulk or Spam Mails or bounce back such mails without accepting it due to heavy number of emails generated by our Applications. In case of Govt./official /company Email Ids, delivery is controlled by your Company Policies. Therefore, please do not expect replies from us, if you do not receive such confirmation/auto-response Emails. "REGISTRATION NO." is also sent by SMS to mobile number of the candidate given in the application. For the problem of service provider, department shall not be responsible for non-receipt of email / SMS.

MTS RECRUITMENT EXAMINATION - 2015 : UP CIRCLE

Instructions for downloading Admit Card & Proforma :

1. Candidates applied through Online mode should enter their Unique Registration Number (URN).
2. Candidates applied through Offline mode i.e. OMR Application form kit should enter their OMR Application Number.
3. Date of Birth is to be entered.
4. Candidates should download and print their Admit card & Proforma.

Other important Instructions :

1. One Latest Passport card size photograph is to be affixed on Admit Card & One Latest Postcard size (5.5” x 3.25”) photograph is to be affixed on Proforma.
These two photos should be same.

AP Circle : Examination for filling the posts of Postman/Mail Guard with GDS/MTS - Examination schedule announced

Circle office Hyderabad has announced the schedule for Postman/Mail Guard Examination for the year 2015 vide CO letter dated 15.09.2015. The last date for submission of applications by the eligible GDS and MTS staff to appear for the examination is 15.10.2015. The schedule date of limited departmental competitive examination is 01.11.2015. The examination centres are Hyderabad, kurnool,vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. 

Total Postman vacancies are 332 and Mail Guard vacancies are 13.
