SYMBOLIC/NUMBER ANALOGY/ALPHABET ANALOGY

NUMBER ANALOGY

In number analogy, numbers are given in pair or group and the candidate has to find the relationship between the numbers or group of numbers.

This can be of different types as follows;

1. total number of digits
2. even and odd numbers
3. cube and cube roots of digits
4. multiplication and division
5. square and square roots of digits
Eg: Q. 957 : 735 :: 833 : ?
Ans: the difference between 957 and 735 is 222

same relation apply in the next pair of numbers. So find 833- x= 222

so x= 611. Therefore last number is 611.

ALPHABET ANALOGY


The relationship between letters are of following types:

1. Increment or decrement in position of letters
2. Reverse order of position
3. vowel or consonant

Consider first two pair, in which

A + 1= B

C+1=D

E+1= F

Similarly, third pair +1 gives 4th pair

M+ 1=N

O+1=P

Q+1=R
