SSC Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination, 2016 Result - Postal/ Sorting Assistant Result

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has published the result of SSC CHSL 2016. The exam was held from 7th January 2017 to 8th February 2017 in the Computer Based Mode for Recruitment of Postal Assistants / Sorting Assistants, Data Entry Operators, Lower Division Clerks and Court Clerk at various centres all over the country. 30,57,993 candidates appeared in the said Examination and 53201 candidates have been qualified for the Tier II (Descriptive test).Check below for more details.

Total No. of Posts : Tentatively the vacancies for the post of Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, LDC, DEO and Court Clerks are 3281, 1321, 506 and 26 respectively.

Educational Qualification : Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

Age Limit : 18-27 years as on 01.01.2017 (Candidates born not before 02-01-1990 and

not later than 01-01-1999).

Application Fees : Mode of payment of fee payable Rs. 100/-(Rupees One Hundred only).

Candidates may note that online application will be accepted at http://ssconline.nic.in only.

Fee paid in respect of online application through SBI Challan/Net banking and any credit

and debit cards will be accepted.

Scheme of Examination : The examination will consist of a Computer-based Written Examination (Tier-I), Descriptive Paper (Tier-II) and Typing Test/Skill Test (Tier-III) Examination for the post of Data Entry Operator, Postal Assistant & Sorting Assistant (PA/SA), Lower Division Clerk and Court

Paper II For Postal Assistants:

Part A: Knowledge of Postal/Mail Office operations with reference to Post Office Guides.

For Sorting Assistants

Part B: Postal Manual Volume VII

Marks: Each Paper carries 100 marks Duration: Each paper will be for one hour

Type of questions: 50 multiple choice questions in each paper. Paper I to be of 10th Standard

Qualifying marks: 40% in each paper for General Category

33% in each paper for SC/ST and 37% for OBC candidates

Syllabus for LGO - PA Examination 2016 Syllabus

PAPER -1 APTITUDE TEST

Aptitude Test:

The syllabus for aptitude test contains the subjects like English, Mathematics, Reasoning, General Knowledge and analytical ability. The paper will contain the total of 100 questions with 1 marks of each question. The duration of the exam will be two hours. The total marks for all the subject will be 100. The classification of marks subject wise is given below.

Part 'A' 25 Questions on General Knowledge - Questions on current events, sports, history, geography, basic economics, general politics, Indian Constitution, Science environment etc (25 marks).

Part 'B' 25 Questions on Mathematics of matriculation standard which may cover number system, simplification, decimals, corrections, simple and compound interest, percentage, average, profit and loss, discount, menstruation, Time & work and time & distance etc. (25 Marks)

Part 'C 25 questions on English covering grammar (prepositions, adverbs, conjunction, direct/indirect speech, singular & plural, tenses, antonyms/synonyms etc. (25 Marks)

Part 'D' 25 Questions on Reasoning and analytical Ability. (25 marks)

Qualified marks

40% marks for OC
37% marks for OBC
33% marks for SC/ST In aggregate.
Minimum 10 marks for OC , 09 marks for OBC , 08 marks for SC/ST candidates in each part A/B/C/D

PAPER-II

TYPING TEST:

Typing test: One passage of 450 words in English / 375 words in Hindi with speed of 30/25 words per minute respectively and Data entry of some figure & letters. CST is of 100 marks and of qualifying nature with minimum of 40% marks for OC, 37 % marks for OBC and 33% marks for SC/ST.
